Edenbridge and Hever Castle. History begins.

The friendly cafe owner in Lingfield suggested we drive to Edenbridge yesterday afternoon. Its High Street is worth visiting. A customer chimed in to be sure to stop at nearby Hever Castle, Anne Boleyn's birth place. Both good recommendations. Edenbridge has charm to spare and much of it the residents who are 'regular folk' who just happen to live in buildings built centuries ago. All are ready to help the tourists.
Hever Castle is impressive but completely changed since Anne Boleyn's time so we decided to spend our time in the local church (St. Peter) and found the bonus of two brass tombstones (rubbing no longer allowed)- a familiar-looking lady and the unfortunate Thomas Boleyn who died in 1538, three years after his daughter lost her head!
